Rae Bell has lived in or near Alleghany most of her life. She has been a volunteer EMT with the Alleghany Fire Dept. since December of 1996. She served as an AVFD Commissioner from 1998 through 2005 when Pliocene Ridge CSD took over the fire department function for both Pike and Alleghany.  She has held various board and officer positions with Pliocene Ridge CSD since its formation.

She holds AA degrees in Business Administration & Accounting.
